Gino Carollo
Born on 1965 in Italy, Gino Carollo is an industrial designer focused on furniture, exhibition, and showroom design. In 1990, he established his own design office and was also tapped for the Italian pavilion at the Cologne International Furniture Exhibition in Germany and the Interior Fair in Viena. In 1998, Carollo founded Studio 28, a design agency that provides product development for industrial design products, corporate identity communication, contract and residential interior design services, and event, exhibition, showroom, and retail design consultation and services. In 2014, he opened his design studio, Gino Carollo and Partners, in Shanghai. Carollo has collaborated with several prestigious firms in Italy and abroad including Porada, Bonaldo, Calligaris, and Antonello, among many others. A staple in furniture exhibitions and fairs, he has received numerous awards including the Du Pont award at CIFF, Young Design Award at Milan Furniture Fair, and the Casaidea award at Mostra dell' Abitare fair in Rome. His design for “Fontana” dining table received top prizes for Red Dot Design Best of Best Award, IF Design Award, Interior Innovation Award, and German Design Award. Carollo’s other notable works include the “Scala” sofa and the “April, May June” bookcase for which he received numerous citations and nominations.
